Aberystwyth Town Football Club is steeped in history, formed in 1884 and joining the Welsh League in 1896. The club has enjoyed many successful seasons over the years and this new partnership reinforces the determination of the club to invest in its future. Aberystwyth has always been a family club and has good connections within the local community, making it an attractive partner for Acerbis as a family run business. Founder Franco Acerbis has built his company on “Soul and Passion” in sport, and has never underestimated the importance of activities like football in bringing people together and in turn building stronger communities.
Working in conjunction with the Aberystwyth staff, Acerbis has developed a bespoke new home kit for the team. Acerbis’s knowledge and experience has enabled them to produce a dedicated football line, developed around players to enable optimum performance and protection.
Wynn Connell, UK Manager at Acerbis said: “We are very happy to have this opportunity to work with Aberystwyth Town on this new project. After my first meetings with the club it was clear to me that they were looking to invest in the future and that we needed to be a part of this new venture. Acerbis has a great sporting history in motorsports and more recently in football. This partnership between Acerbis and Aberystwyth Town FC will mark the start of a chapter in our history.”
Club Chairman Tony Bates commented: “Both the club and our sponsors are delighted with our new three year deal with Acerbis, a company with whom we all share some common values. The bespoke kit looks fantastic, and comes in at a time of real change for Aberystwyth Town as we continue to improve the Park Avenue ground. We’re sure that the new kit will be a big hit with the players and fans alike, and look forward to seeing them running out on the new 3G pitch later this year.”
