After succumbing to a second minute goal, a classy Liverpool XI eventually crusied to victory at Park Avenue.
Kick off was delayed by 15 minutes as Liverpool's coach was caught in traffic, and Aber took full advantage. Lifelong Liverpool fan, Sion James, stabbed home from close range after a Geoff Kellaway corner eluded the visiting defence, Aber had the better of the opening exchanges after the impressive Kellaway showed some pace before shooting into the side netting. Eventually though Liverpool's excellent touch started to show, with Gerardo Bruna standing out, and on 24 minutes Vincent Weijl picked up the ball on the left wing, dinked inside before unleashing an unstoppable 25 yard volley into the bottom right corner.
Towards the end of the first half, Liverpool showed some clinical finishing to end the game as a contest. First Nathan Eccelestone walzed through midfield before picking out the unmarked Bruna on the left wing, who slotted home a low drive, and then Chris Buchtmann picked up a loose ball, and passed to Ecclestone, who finished from close range.
The second half was marked by a rash of substitutions, and sub Ryan Crowther scored Liverpool's fourth when a left wing cross found him free in the area. Aber's substitute goalkeeper Steven Cann then made a string of excellent saves to deny Jordy Brouwer, but eventually the three goal margin remained secure and in truth gave a fair reflection of proceedings on the day.
