Aberystwyth Town Women is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Chelsea Herbert. The former Swansea City goalkeeper made 12 appearances in the Genero Adran Premier last season for the Swans, under the helm of now Aber Town Manager Chris Church. Herbert also spent time at Abergavenny and Cyncoed, and will now join up with The Seasiders for the 2024/25 campaign. Chelsea said: "I’m really excited to join Aber, they’re a strong club, I’m looking forward to the season ahead. "Everyone has been so welcoming and I can’t wait to get started." Manager Chris Church said upon Herbert's signing: "Chelsea brings a wealth of experience to the team, she was with me at Swans last year and did a fantastic job. Roedd y Bont yn haeddu gol Mael Davies yn y 12fed munud, ond hafalodd Devon Torry y sgor gyda’i gol gyntaf yn y Cymru Prem, ac roedd Aber yn breuddwydio am ganlyniad gwell. Aber’s early season bubble of optimism was popped at Penybont as Town went down to a 5-1 defeat on a warm Bank Holiday in Bridgend. Penybont were good value for their 12th minute lead from Mael Davies, but Devon Torry opened his Cymru Premier account with a 31st minute equaliser, and the Black and Greens dared to dream. Aber Town’s upturn in form continued with a huge win at home to Barry Town United last night, with Johnny Evans’ 33rd minute volley at the back post enough to gain all three points for the Black and Greens and to send them up to sixth in the table after three league games of 2024/25.
