Aberystwyth Town Football Club are delighted to confirm the signings of Frankie Ealing and Christoph Aziamale from Aston Villa and Runcorn Town respectively, as well as the return of Calum Huxley. Frankie Ealing joins after spending 14 years in Aston Villa’s academy, whom he joined at just six years old. Ealing was an unused substitute on one occasion for Villa’s senior side, in a defeat to Liverpool in the FA Cup in 2021.
Primarily a right-back, Ealing has played across the whole back-line, and will offer versatility to an already solid Aberystwyth defence. Christoph Aziamale is no stranger to the Cymru Premier, having previously had spells in the league with Bangor City, Rhyl, Cefn Druids, and most recently Bala Town. Aziamale joins after spells at Whitchurch Alport, Northwich Victoria and Runcorn Town last season. Still just 26, Aziamale will offer Anthony Williams another dimension in attack. Both Aziamale and Ealing made their debuts for Aberystwyth in the victory over Colwyn Bay last weekend. Aberystwyth are also delighted to announce the return of Calum Huxley to the club. Huxley joined last season from Flint Town, but was restricted to just four appearances after missing a majority of the season with an injury. Prior to his spell at Flint, Huxley also had a brief spell at Caernarfon Town, after coming through the academies of Sheffield Wednesday and Wrexham. Speaking after the match against Colwyn Bay, manager Anthony Williams was pleased with the performances of the two new faces, saying: “Christoph showed glimpses of his pace in behind, and got on the end of one early doors. He affects other people by occupying the centre-backs and he’s got pace, which we need at times up top.” “Ealing is coming in from Villa, so you know he’s got quality as a second year pro there.
