Mae CPD Tref Aberystwyth yn drist o glywed am marwolaeth Peter Parry, awdur llyfr The Old Black and Greens, sydd yn olrhain hanes CPD Tref Aber rhwng 1884 a 1984, yn 90 oed. Aberystwyth Town FC is saddened to learn that Peter Parry, joint author of The Old Black and Greens, which tells the story of Aber Town FC between 1884 and 1984, has died at the age of 90. Peter played football for 17 years in the Aberystwyth and District League but he also donned the Black and Green shirt 20 times between 1957 and 1962.
He was keenly interested in the development and promotion of football in the town and was a former Secretary of the Aberystwyth Mini Minor League. He was also actively involved in organising the RAFA Cup for a number of years. As a member of the Aberystwyth Town FC Committee Peter served as Secretary of the Club’s Improvements Committee. Peter was Sports Editor of the Cambrian News for many years and regularly reported on and previewed town’s matches, including the Welsh Amateur Cup Final win over Cardiff College of Education in 1970. Peter’s funeral is on Saturday 18 January 2pm at Aberystwyth Crematorium. The Club extends its condolences to Peter's friends and family.
