Cwpan MG Nathaniel MG Cup Sadwrn/Saturday 3 Awst/August (CG/KO 2.30yh/pm) Bae Colwyn Bay v Tref Aberystwyth Town Mae tymor 2024/25 Tref Aber ar fin cychwyn ymhen 48 awr, gyda gem Gwpan Nathaniel MG i ffwrdd i Fae Colwyn prynhawn Sadwrn! Aber Town's 2024/25 season kicks off in 48 hours with a Nathaniel MG Cup game away at Colwyn Bay this Saturday! Anthony Williams has retained the majority of his squad from last season, as well as adding some new faces and some familiar ones too, such as Harry Arnison and Niall Flint who both return after a year away from Park Avenue. Pre-Season saw four very close games, with the Seasiders winning two games 2-1 and losing two games 1-0. The players had a week without a match last Saturday, so should be well rested ahead of this weekend’s fixture.
Colwyn Bay start this season in the JD Cymru North following their relegation from the JD Cymru Premier last season. Michael Wilde has replaced Steve Evans as Manager, with Danny Harrison appointed his Assistant. The new Management team have rebuilt the squad and only six senior players remain from last season, although these do include defensive linchpin Sam Hart and the influential Thomas Creamer. The Bay started life back in the JD Cymru North last weekend and fell to a 4-0 defeat at home to Bangor 1876. They did have to play nearly an hour with 10 however, after Lewis Sirrell was sent off. The last meeting between the two clubs came back in March when Aber Town grabbed a huge victory and a big step on the road to Cymru Premier safety as Zac Hartley’s 92nd minute winner was the difference on a tense afternoon. Jack Thorn gave the visitors a 31st minute lead, but when Dan Atkins equalised with two minutes left on the clock it looked like the Black and Greens had let a great chance slip, only for the irrepressible Hartley to pop up at the death with a magic moment. The other three league games last season were close affairs too. A Matthew Hill goal was the difference at Park Avenue in February as Colwyn Bay secured a 1-0 win, whilst in Phase 1 Aber triumphed by the same scoreline in early January thanks to a Liam Walsh goal after The Bay had won 3-1 in the first meeting in September. Colwyn Bay’s website advises that Four Crosses Construction Arena can be found by using the following directions: From the A55 (North Wales Expressway). Leave the A55 at Junction 22, sign posted Hen Golwyn/Old Colwyn. Turn left at the end of the slip road and follow the road up the hill to the roundabout at the top. At the roundabout take the second exit (Marine Hotel on the left). Follow the road for half a mile to the brow of the hill and the ground is on the right. The Postcode is LL29 8UN and there is a car park at the entrance to the stadium. Tickets are expected to be priced at £10 Adults | £5 Concessions | £2 Children and card payments are available. The 2024/25 kick-off is nearly here! Comments are closed.
