Uwchgynghrair Cymru JD Cymru Premier Sadwrn/Saturday 2 Tachwedd/November (CC/KO 5.15yh/pm) Briton Ferry Llansawel v Tref Aberystwyth Town Mae Tref Aber yn teithio i'r De dros y penwythnos i wynebu Briton Ferry Llansawl, sydd yn ddeuddegfed yn y gynghrair, un lle islaw i’r Gwyrdd a’r Duon. Aber Town travel south this weekend and will face Briton Ferry Llansawel, who currently occupy 12th place in the league, immediately below the Black and Greens. This is the hosts first season in the JD Cymru Premier following promotion from the JD Cymru North, although one of their previous incarnations Briton Ferry Athletic spent four seasons in the then League of Wales in the 1990’s and merged with Llansawel in 2009 to form the current club.
Andy Dyer’s team come into this match on the back of three straight defeats in the league, which leaves them on 5 points – two behind Aber. They have two former Seasiders in their ranks. Assistant Manager Chris Llewellyn had a brief spell in Black and Green in 2012, whilst Luke Bowen was top scorer and a fans favourite during his one season at Park Avenue in 2009/10. Aber’s interim Manager Dave Taylor will have been pleased with the spirit his side showed on Sunday against reigning champions The New Saints, with Aber pushing for an equaliser right up until Declan McManus’ 94th minute goal which sealed the Saints 4-2 victory. The Black and Green faithful will be hoping the players can summon the same spirit this weekend, in a match that will be shown live on S4C as well as online. Briton Ferry Llansawel’s Old Road ground can be found by following postcode SA11 2HA. Please note that it is a 5.15pm KO because of the TV broadcast, but you can’t beat being there in person and the Green Army will need to be heard loud and proud as always! Comments are closed.
