Uwchgynghrair Cymru JD Cymru Premier Gwener/Friday 4 Hydref/October (CC/KO 7.45yh/pm) Cei Conna/Connah's Quay Nomads v Tref Aberystwyth Town Mae Tref Aber yn teithio sha'r Gogledd nos Wener i herio Cei Conna, benodd yn ail yn Uwchgynghrair JD Cymru y llynedd. Aber Town head North this Friday to face last seasons JD Cymru Premier Runners-Up, Connahs Quay Nomads. Nomads are having a difficult start to the season by their recent high standards, and currently sit in 9th place having parted company with Neil Gibson a few weeks back. Former Leeds United and Swindon Town striker Billy Paynter is his replacement with the new man tasting life in the Cymru Premier for the first time, having previously managed Runcorn Linnets of the Northern Premier League.
There was also plenty of movement at the Nomads during the summer, with Michael Wilde, Andy Firth, Harry Owen, Jordan Davies, Josh Williams and former Seasider Harry Franklin all departing. New arrivals include goalkeeper George Ratcliffe from Pontypridd Utd, former Newtown winger Fumpa Mwandwe and former The New Saints Captain, Chris Marriott, who brings plenty of experience to the side having won the Cymru Premier on multiple occasions with his former club. Both teams come into this match on a poor run of form, with neither team having secured a league win since August. Nomads lost 3-1 at Caernarfon last weekend, whilst Aber were denied a point at Barry Town United by a late Ollie Hulbert goal. Rhys Hughes is the Nomads top scorer so far this season with 3 goals, whilst Fumpa Mwandwe has netted twice, as has long serving defender John Disney. The last two games between these two teams have ended in a 1-1 draw; in August at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue and back in October last year in Phase One of last seasons Cymru Premier. As was the case last season, Connahs Quay groundshare at Flint Town United’s Essity Stadium, which can be found by following postcode CH6 5PJ. Flint’s website offers the following travel advice: The stadium sits on the banks of the Dee Estuary, a short walk away from Flint Castle. You’ll find a car park near the RNLI Lifeboat Station. Once that fills up, we ask you to be respectful about where you park. Try to consider those living locally and avoid blocking any driveways, streets or access roads. If you can, come on foot or on the train. It’ll make your journey home easier and give you some eco-credentials too. Green Army … its time to hit the road again Comments are closed.
