Uwchgynghrair Cymru JD Cymru Premier Gwe/Fri 20 Medi/Sept (CC/KO 8yh/pm) Tref Aber Town v Hwlffordd/Haverfordwest County Mae Tref Aber yn croesawi Hwlffordd i Goedlan y Parc Prifysgol Aberystwyth nos Wener, am ail gem gartref o fewn tridie. Aber Town welcome Haverfordwest County to Aberystwyth University Park Avenue this Friday, for a second home match in three days. Not for the first time, Jonny Evans was the Black and Green hero on Tuesday night, as his two goals in stoppage time sealed a place in the Nathaniel MG Cup Quarter Finals for the first time in five seasons. The Green Army will be hoping that the team can carry the momentum gained from Tuesday’s dramatic victory into this match, as Anthony Williams men go in search of their first league win in five matches.
Haverfordwest County will provide stern opposition as always. They currently sit in 6th position in the league and have accumulated 11 points so far this season; winning 3 and drawing 2 of their 7 matches so far this season. They do come into this match having lost their last three matches however: all by one goal to nil. They exited the Nathaniel MG Cup on Tuesday evening having lost at current league leaders Penybont. The visitors roster has plenty of ex-Aber personnel on it this season. Manager Tony Pennock had a brief spell at Park Avenue in 2017, helping to steer the club to safety during his tenure. Lee Jenkins swapped Ceredigion for Pembrokeshire in summer 2022, having come through the ranks at Aberystwyth to go on to become a reliable member of the back four and a fan favourite, whilst Ricky Watts donned the Black and Green in the 2016/17 season. Joining them this season are Owain Jones, who spent two seasons in Ceredigion between 2020-2022 and Greg Walters, who had a brief spell in Black and Green in 2016. Dylan Rees, who made a couple of appearances for the Seasiders in 2017, has also returned to action recently following a long spell out with injury. There were four meetings between the two teams last season. Haverfordwest were victorious in both matches played at Bridge Meadow, with Aber triumphant in the Phase 2 game at Park Avenue and the points shared in the other. Matchday tickets are available by cash or card at the turnstiles. Admission prices at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue for 2024/5 are set at £8 for adults, £5 for concessions, £2 for Secondary School age kids, and Primary School and younger are free. Twice in three days – we do spoil you don't we! Comments are closed.
