Sunday 3rd February Aberystwyth Town Ladies 6 (Wylde 27, 44, F. Evans 62, Cat Davies 64, 71, 85) Penybont Ladies 0 Following on from a superb performance away at Merthyr Town, the Black and Greens continued their impressive form with six goals at Park Avenue. Aber Town Ladies have now scored 15 goals in their last three games. After numerous early chances, the hosts finally made the breakthrough through the free scoring Tania Wylde with yet another goal from outside of the area, her low strike finding the bottom corner. Aber's top scorer then scored her 20th goal of the season in just her 14th game of the season on 44 minutes when the visiting keeper unable to catch a ball which eventually dipped into the back of the net. The Ceredigion side had chances to increase their lead further and did so on 64 minutes. After a perfect through from Naomi Evans, it was Ffiona Evans who kept calm in front of goal to grab Town's third. Two minutes later Cat Davies made it four: another good ball from Naomi Evans put the former Penrhyncoch forward through one on one and Davies made no mistake in front of goal. Four soon became five when Cat Davies scored her second of the match after the goalkeepers clearance was closed down by Naomi Evans, the forward finding the back of the empty net from the edge of the area. Cat Davies completed her hat-trick with five minutes remaining. Debutant, Ella Ramseyer-Bache's header fell to the feet of Davies who manged to poke the ball into the back of the net. Aber remain top of the Welsh Women's League following the result with seven league games remaining. Following the result, a cheerful Gwynfor Edwards was quick to label Cat Davies' three goals as a 'Cat-trick'. |
A previous postponement was the Central Wales Cup Quarter-Final away at Llanfair United Ladies. This match will now be played on Sunday 17th February at Llanfair United. If the pitch is unplayable again then the match will be played at Park Avenue at 6pm on the same day.
