Tuesday 3rd October (8 p.m Kick-Off)
Aberystwyth Town v Airbus UK Broughton
Aberystwyth Town welcome Airbus UK Broughton to Park Avenue on Tuesday night in the second round of the Nathaniel MG Cup. Nev Powell’s men will look to build on Friday night’s 1-1 draw away at Bala Town, as they aim to advance to the Quarter Finals of the competition. Town came out 2-0 victors in their first round tie away at Caersws back in August, and they will be looking for another positive result against a Huws Gray Alliance outfit at Park Avenue on Tuesday night.
After another strong performance from Town last Friday night at Bala, manager Nev Powell admitted he is finally beginning to see the style of play he wants from his players. Powell commented “the players are getting to know each other better and better, and the style of play seems to be coming together” in conversation with Aber Town’s Youtube channel after the game at Maes Tegid. Indeed, Powell will hope to see the momentum gained from recent performances carried into Tuesday night’s clash against an Airbus UK Broughton side that were relegated from the JD Welsh Premier League last season.
Joe Culshaw could feature for Aber as he returns from suspension, whilst local starlets Jack Rimmer and Mathew Jones will also be pushing for a starting place.
Airbus travel to Aber in fine form, after another victory last weekend against Ruthin Town. They currently lie in second place in the Huws Gray Alliance League as they push for immediate promotion back into the JD Welsh Premier League. Two former Black and Greens also feature in their squad in the form of Stefan Edwards and Jamie Crowther.
In what should be an exciting contest, Kick Off at Park Avenue is at 8 p.m. Come on down and help cheer on the boys to another strong performance. Midweek football under the Park Avenue lights is hard to beat!
