Aberystwyth Town FC is delighted to confirm that our 3G surface at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue Stadium passed its FIFA pitch inspection on Friday, and has once again been certified to FIFA Quality Pro status, the highest rating available.
This means that the 3G surface, available for hire for Community Clubs and Teams throughout Ceredigion, subject to Coronavirus restrictions being lifted, has reached the required status to host UEFA Champions League/Europa League Qualifiers. The Club would like to publicly thank the hard work of Nathan Perkins, and all other volunteers involved, whose tireless work allowed Aberystwyth Town FC to earn this prestigious quality mark. Everyone at Aberystwyth Town FC sends Alhagi Touray Sisay our best wishes as his football journey continues away from Park Avenue. Alhagi signed for Aberystwyth Town in January 2020, and played six matches for The Seasiders, scoring four goals before the COVID-19 pandemic brought the 2019/20 season to an abrupt end in March. The burly Spanish striker, who is strong but also excellent with his feet made a big impression, opening his scoring run away to Cardiff Met before notching a famous hat trick at home to Airbus in February, and his trickery earned the Black and Greens a crucial penalty at Cefn Druids in his final game which ensured a 2-2 draw. Alhagi became a popular figure at the Club in his brief time in Ceredigion. His contract with the Black and Greens came to an end in May and he is now set to join other ex Seasiders Alex Samuel, Tom Bradshaw, Gwion Edwards and Rhys Norrington Davies in the English Football League. We are pleased to have enjoyed the best of Alhagi and wish him all the best for the future! Photos courtesy of Colin Ewart |
