Dafabet Welsh Premier League
Aberystwyth Town v Airbus UK Broughton
Dafabet Welsh Premier League games come thick and fast at this time of year and everyone at Park Avenue is looking forward to Aberystwyth Town's next game, at home to Airbus UK Broughton on Saturday afternoon (ko 2.30pm).
The reason for the positive vibe in large part comes from Aber's home form to date in 2015/6, which has seen them score eight goals in two games with exciting displays of attacking football, leaving home supporters thrilled. A 5-1 Word Cup win at home to Goytre United on Tuesday night was a fine preparation for Saturday's test, thanks to goals from Chris Venables, Darren Thomas, Geoff Kellaway, Cledan Davies and Craig Williams, and with Jamie Reed definitely returning to Saturday's squad, and Rhys Griffiths close to a return, the attacking prowess available to Manager Ian Hughes must be the envy of most other WPL Managers.
Airbus for their part have had an uncharacteristically inconsistent start to 2015/6, and with Manager Andy Preece banned for nine games, results haven't all gone their way. After hammering Carmarthen on the first day of the season the Wingmakers lost to Bala Town, and then capitulated 4-1 at home to Bangor last weekend. They did then recover to beat Cefn Druids 2-0 in Tuesday night's Word Cup clash, and as the Broughton side are one of Aber's major rivals for a European place next season, this match may provide an early indication of where both sides are as 2015/6 really gets going. Although Aber and Airbus are currently on 3 points after 3 games, both know that a win on Saturday could take them as high as third, so an intriguing scene is set.
With an average of five goals per game at Park Avenue so far this season, no one leaves us bored, and admission on Saturday will cost £6 for Adults, £4 Concessions and £1 for Children. Town's Matchday Programme The Seasider will again be on sale for £2 and Kick off at Park Avenue will be at 2.30pm. See you there!
