Sherbon, 31, chose to remain with Town last season to create a link between the past and Matthew Bishop's new look squad of 2016/7, and was appointed Club Captain for the season.
He stated on his twitter account @LSherbon this morning: "After 14 years on and off it's time to leave @AberystwythTown. All the best for the future, great club and good people."
Club Assistant Manager Wayne Jones said: "Luke was obviously a bit of a Legend at the Club even before I arrived, but he was also a big part in stabilizing our transition to a new Squad last season. He had a pivotal role in that process and for that we thank him. Luke's vast experience will be a big benefit to his next Club. Good luck Sherbs from us all."
Since making his league debut in 2003, Luke has made over 248 League appearances for the Black and Greens (in three periods with the Club), scoring 58 goals. He won the Players' Player of the Year Award at the Club's Annual Dinner in 2015, represented the Black and Greens in the Welsh Cup Final of 2014, and went on to play in the 2014/5 UEFA Europa League, and the UEFA Europa League Play Off Final. He has previously represented Barry Town, Rhyl - where he won the Welsh Premier League in 2009 - and Australian Side Dandenong Thunder.
Luke has made a career total of 280 WPL appearances, scoring 62 goals. The Club and its supporters thank Sherbs sincerely for his superb service to the Club and wish him all the best for his future career.
