Saturday 15th July (ko 2.30pm)
Aberystwyth Town v Llanelli Town
First Team football returns to Park Avenue tomorrow afternoon as new Town Manager Neville Powell oversees the Black and Greens' first friendly of pre season 2017, at home to Welsh League Division Two Champions and League Cup Holders Llanelli Town.
Town's Squad has seen some turnover over pre-season with four new players added to the strong cohort who remained from last season. Goalkeeper Chris Mullock, defenders Cledan Davies and Ryan Wollacott, midfielders Malcolm Melvin, Jack Rimmer, Jamie Crowther and Dafydd Jones, and strikers Luke Borelli, Geoff Kellaway and Jon Owen provide a strong and familiar spine to a squad recently enhanced by the acquisitions of defender Jonny Spittle, midfielders Joe Phillips and James Etherington and keeper Scott Coughlan. Black and Green supporters can also expect to see some of Town's Under 19s squad filling out the squad tomorrow, as Powell runs the rule over his charges for the first time.
Llanelli for their part contain in their Squad a number of Players to have donned the Black and Green, amongst them goalkeeper Craig Morris, midfielders Anthony Finselbach, Joe Clarke and Kurtis March and striker Jordan Follows. They also have the irrepressible Lee Trundle whose fifty goal haul in Welsh League Division Two last season became a nationwide story. The Reds are certain to provide a very tough test as they prepare for a season back in the second tier of Welsh Football - and potentially even a push for the Welsh Premier League.
Early Bird Season Tickets and and Season Ticket Renewals will be available for £90 from Club Secretary Emyr James on Saturday and an Application Form can be downloaded below.
It is three months to the day since Town's last home game when a huge crowd saw Aber secure their WPL status with a memorable 4-0 win over Rhyl on a rainy Good Friday. Admission will cost £4 for Adults and £2 for Kids and Kick off at Park Avenue is at 2.30pm. Welcome back!!
