Jock is a legendary character to any Black and Green supporter from the 1980s or 1990s, having played 503 games and scored 137 goals for Town between 1981-2001. After arriving in the University as a student from Glasgow Donald was the beating heart of Meirion Appleton's hugely successful side from the Mid 1980s which twice won the Central Wales League, and he also played for Town in the Abacus League and the League of Wales. Since retiring his influence has grown even further within the Club as he has played the roles of Chairman, Vice Chairman and countless others with distinction, overseeing three forays into European Football, as and helping to transform Aber Town off the field into one of the most respected Semi Professional clubs in Wales.
Kevin is no less respected, having scored a truly remarkable 396 goals for the Club in 489 games between 1984 and 2000. A fearsome striker respected and coveted throughout Wales, Kevin's ability to jump like a salmon and hang in the air before heading the ball goalbound was uncanny. His period of success again coincided closely with Meirion Appleton and Tomi Morgan's spells in charge at the Club, and he famously scored Aber's first ever European goals at Park Avenue in front of a crowd of over 2,000 at home to Floriana in July 1999. Kev has remained with the Club behind the scenes and is now a Club Director, Treasurer, and last year he became a father too!
Kev and Jock are fourth and sixth left in the back row in this rare photo of Aberystwyth Town's Championship Winning side of 1985.
