Defender Jack Rimmer has become the latest player to commit his future to the Seasiders after penning a one-year extension on his current deal.
Since being handed his debut by Ian Hughes away at Llandudno in 2015, the former Ysgol Penweddig pupil has made nearly a century of appearances for his hometown club over two spells.
Welsh speaking Rimmer has an impressive sporting pedigree spanning back to his time in youth football. At a young age, he was invited to a number of academies including Liverpool, Stoke City and Birmingham City. He also part of the Aber United side that won the Ian Rush Super Cup in 2009.
Jack earned international honours and was the captain of the club’s Under 19’s side that won the Welsh Premier League Development title in consecutive years. He also scored the winner in the final against Flint in the 2018 rendition of the tournament. His two spells at Aberystwyth have been sandwiched between a stint at JD Cymru North side Penrhyncoch.
Speaking about his decision to remain at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue, Rimmer stated, “I was delighted to have been asked to sign again for the upcoming season. When the gaffer rang me, it was an easy decision for me as I’ve heard such great things about him. We’re all buzzing to get going.”
“It’s a massive honour to have the opportunity to play for my hometown club once again this season. We’ll have some fresh faces again this year which will be exciting.”
“I can’t wait to get back out playing in front of our fantastic supporters”
