Aberystwyth Town Women 3 (E. Jones 1', A. Jenkins 26', L. Isaac 63')
Barry Town United Ladies 1 (Trivett 46')
On Matchday One in the all new Adran Premier season goals from Elin Jones (1 min), Amy Jenkins (26 mins) and Libby Isaac (63 mins) gave the Ceredigion the perfect start to what is sure to be an exciting season.
Trivett did manage to pull a goal back for the South Wales side early in the second half but it was not enough to deny the hosts all three points.
Aber started strong with an early goal from a corner, seeing newcomer Elin Jones score the first goal in the newly formed Adran Premier League. The Seasiders capitalised not long after with Amy Jenkins scoring from the penalty spot. Our visitors started the second half lively, putting the home side under a lot of pressure. Within just a few minutes, Barry reduced the score line with a well worked goal to make it 2-1. A flurry of substitutions for Aber added energy to the hosts side, which saw Libby Isaac set up for a 30 yd screamer to kill the game at 3-1.
A fantastic performance from the Seasiders resulting in a much needed 3 points to start off the 2021-22 season.
