Further to Sunday’s news of further arrivals at Park Avenue, Aberystwyth Town are delighted to announce that defender Will Bell becomes the latest player to arrive at Park Avenue ahead of the forthcoming season. The centre back comes to the Ceredigion coast having started his career at Morecombe before spending the previous time at Bala Town where he made 37 appearances for the Lakesiders as well as a loan spell to Colwyn Bay where he made seven appearances. Confident, strong in the air and competent with the ball at his feet, the 21 year old will bolster Aber’s defensive options following the news that Sam Rondon, Cledan Davies and Ricky Watts have already committed to the club for the forthcoming season. Although signed for his defensive capabilities, Bell will be remembered by Town fans for his goal scoring exploits when, after a stunning hat trick from Geoff Kellaway, he broke the Green Army’s hearts with an 89th minute equaliser on Maes Tegid in 2015. All at Aberystwyth would like to welcome Will to the club and hope that his time in Black and Green is a successful one! Croeso Will! Aberystwyth Town are pleased to announce three further signings to bolster Matthew Bishop's squad for 2016/7. Striker Jonathan Evans returns from Penrhyncoch for a third spell at Park Avenue, whilst also joining the Black and Greens will be Kostya Georgievsky and Joe Clarke from Port Talbot Town. Evans is no stranger to Aber fans, having re-joined the club in January 2016 from the Roosters. Despite making a positive impression with his energy filled performances, Evans returned to Penrhyn in February. 22 year old Jonathan had earned widespread acclaim for his performances up front for the Roosters in 2015/6. An Aberystwyth Town FC Academy product and son of Mid Wales Travel Supremo and Club Sponsor Mel Evans, Jonathan progressed to Cardiff City's Academy and whilst there he represented the Welsh Schoolboys and Under 16s sides, competing in the Victory Shield. Jonathan then signed for Accrington Stanley before signing for Aber during Alan Morgan's tenure in July 2011. He made 5 WPL Appearances in 2011/12 before moving on to Cae Baker. and went straight into the Starting XI for matches at home to Port Talbot and Newtown in January 2016. Newry-born striker Kostya Georgievsky was promoted into the Port Talbot Town first team squad in October 2014, after impressing with the youth team, though he made a fine breakthrough to the first team in January 2016 with some impressive performances on the wing. He played the 2013/14 season as a youth team player with the Steelman, whilst also gaining first team experience with Garden Village. Kostya, who turned 20 this week has also played for Gowerton juniors and Cwm Albion Colts. Joe Clarke is a midfielder who was club captain with Goytre United after joining from West End in 2012. He signed for Port Talbot Town in May 2015 and created a strong central midfield partnership with Paul Fowler last season at the GenQuip. Joe enjoys getting forward and proved in pre season to have a keen eye for a goal. He came through the youth ranks at Llanelli and spent time in Australia playing for Moreland City. Aberystwyth Town FC welcome all three players to Park Avenue. |
