Tuesday 22nd September (ko 7.45pm)
Aberystwyth Town v Bala Town
Aberystwyth Town will be looking for a Freshers Week boost on Tuesday evening as they prepare to host League Leaders Bala Town off the back of a terrific 3-0 win in Carmarthen last Friday night. The hosts' confidence will be high after that performance, which showcased a strong defensive foundation and a devastating attacking prowess to defeat a side which had not lost at home all season.
For the first time in 2015/6 Manager Ian Hughes had a full squad to choose from, and Jamie Reed, Darren Thomas and Chris Venables all found the back of the net in the last twenty minutes of Friday's match. Rhys Griffiths' appearance as a late substitute was another big boost for the Seasiders, who are the League's top scorers on eleven goals
Club Marketing Officers Jed Woodcock and Tomos Ings will be attending the University Freshers Fair on Tuesday to recruit new Supporters and the Black and Greens hope and anticipate that a large number of Freshers will be in attendance to cheer Town on to another famous result.
Bala Town for their part have enjoyed an excellent start to the season, beating Airbus, Connah's Quay and Bangor at home and drawing away with Port Talbot and Carmarthen Town. They currently lead the table having finished runners up last season, though almost exactly a year ago they visited Park Avenue for a WPL League game and were routed by the Black and Greens by four goals to nil.
If Town can replicate the defensive tenacity and bite shown last Friday then a positive result is on the cards, and a Big Roar from the Dias Stand will show Aber the way. Admission will cost £6 for Adults, £4 Concessions and £1 for Children, and Kick off is at 7.45pm.
The Club of course extends a very warm welcome to all Freshers - a visit to Park Avenue is a must for anyone wanting to get a feel for a new and wonderful world by the sea!
