ER COF / IN MEMORY: MIKE MORRIS

Aberystwyth Town are saddened to hear of the loss of former Black & Green defender, Mike Morris, who made 52 appearances for the Club between 1968 to 1972 before serving as a coach with the Club's youth and reserve teams.

On the field, Mike appeared in the two-legged Mid Wales League Cup Final against all conquering Welshpool Town during April of the 1970-71 season. A first leg 1-0 victory at Park Avenue was followed up with a 3-2 triumph on their opponents' Maes-y-Dre ground to claim the cup by an aggregate of 4-2.

He later took on coaching duties with the Club's youth and reserve teams over many years alongside Dai Whitney, playing an instrumental role in the development of footballers in the Aberystwyth area.

The Club sends its deepest sympathies to all of Mike's family and friends at this sad time.
