REPORT: ATWFC 1 - 2 CARDIFF MET WOMEN (A)
Aberystwyth Town Women were narrowly defeated 2–1 by Cardiff Met Women,
despite taking an early lead and putting in a determined performance.

Aber started brightly and took the lead early in the first half through Sioned Kersey,
who produced an excellent long-range effort to put the Seasiders 1–0 ahead. The
opening goal gave Aber confidence, but Cardiff Met responded by creating chances
of their own. Both sides continued to threaten as an entertaining first half developed,
with Aber working hard to maintain their advantage.
Met eventually found an equaliser following a goal-line scramble. After a crowded
moment inside the Aber penalty area, the officials judged that the ball had crossed
the line, bringing the visitors level.
The second half continued in a similar fashion, with both teams pushing forward in
search of the decisive goal. Aber battled hard and created opportunities, but Cardiff
Met continued to pose a threat at the other end. The visitors eventually found the winning goal through another defensive scramble, with the ball finding its way into the Aber net to make it 2–1.
Despite the disappointment of the result, there were plenty of positives for Aber to
take from the performance, particularly the bright start, Sioned Kersey's excellent
strike and the determination shown throughout the match.
Aberystwyth Town Women will now look to take those positives into their next fixture
as they prepare to face Briton Ferry this coming Sunday.
