Aberystwyth Town Women fell to a 3–0 defeat at home to Briton Ferry Llansawel Women, in a match where the scoreline didn’t fully reflect the effort shown, particularly after the break.
The visitors took the lead in the 28th minute when Lucy Powell converted from the penalty spot. It was a setback for Aber in what had been a competitive opening, with both sides looking to settle into the game.

After halftime, Aberystwyth responded well and began to take control of possession, building attacking momentum and creating several chances. The home side showed real determination and energy, pushing to find a way back into the match, but were unable to make their opportunities count.
As Aber committed bodies forward in search of an equaliser, Ferry capitalised late on. Megan Kearle added a second in the 80th minute, before Jade Crofts sealed the result with a third goal in the 90th minute.
While the result was disappointing, there were positives to take from Aberystwyth’s second-half performance, with the team showing resilience and attacking intent. The focus now shifts to next week, where the girls will be determined to bounce back and put things right.
