Aber made a flying start to the encounter, taking the lead after just two minutes through Chloe Edwards, who marked the occasion with her first senior goal to put the Seasiders 1–0 ahead. The early breakthrough gave Aber confidence, but Barry responded well and found an equaliser through Beca Thomas in the 12th minute.
Both sides continued to battle in an entertaining first half, with Barry eventually taking the lead just before the interval. Olivia Barnett found the net in the 42nd minute to complete the visitors' turnaround and send them into the break with a 2–1 advantage.
The second half saw Aber show plenty of determination as they searched for a way back into the contest. The Seasiders continued to push forward, working hard to find an equaliser while Barry looked to protect their narrow lead.
Aber's persistence was eventually rewarded in the 84th minute when Rebecca Mathias delivered a dangerous ball into the area from a free-kick, allowing Libby Isaac to turn home and bring the Seasiders level at 2–2. Despite both sides battling until the final whistle, neither could find a winning goal, with the points shared at Park Avenue.
There were plenty of positives for Aber to take from the performance, particularly the early breakthrough, the determination shown to fight back from behind and a well-earned first point of the league campaign. Hannah Phillips-Jones (Sponsored by: Harry Ware) was named Player of the Match following her performance for the Seasiders.
Aberystwyth Town will now look to build on this result as they travel across the border to face The New Saints at Park Hall on Sunday 25th October in their next Genero Adran Premier fixture.
