Aberystwyth Town Women continued their pre-season preparations with an entertaining friendly at Park Avenue against a good Penybont Women side.

It was a slow start for the Seasiders, who struggled to find rhythm in the opening stages. Penybont capitalised with good energy and pressing, making Aber work hard defensively. The visitors showed real determination early on and deservedly made their mark on the game. As the first half wore on, however, Aber began to settle, with more composure in possession. Once momentum shifted, the home side grew in confidence and started to create chances.
In the second half, Aber carried that improvement forward, playing with more fluidity in attack. Clinical finishing proved the Seasiders turn the game in their favour. A valuable run-out for Aberystwyth Town Women, with plenty of positives to build on ahead of the new season. Congratulations to Dani Mawle who won player of the match and most importantly trusted to look after our new mascot for the week.
The club would like to extend thanks to Penybont Women for making the journey to Park Avenue. We wish them the very best of luck for their upcoming campaign.
