The hosts made a perfect start, taking the lead inside just three minutes. Carys Bufton was quickest to react inside the box, finishing from close range with a poacher’s effort to give Aber an early advantage. Barry responded almost immediately, finding an equaliser in the 8th minute through Beca Thomas, who capitalised on an opening to level the score. The visitors continued to apply pressure and took the lead in the 28th minute, as Sienna Stone found the net to make it 2–1.

Aberystwyth responded at a crucial moment just before the break. On the stroke of half-time, Bufton struck again with a fantastic finish from distance to bring the hosts level at 2–2, a goal that shifted the momentum and set up a finely balanced second half.

Both sides pressed with intensity after the restart, with Aberystwyth beginning to take control of the game. However, against the run of play, Barry regained the lead in the 64th minute through Keira Harris. Despite the setback, Aber continued to push forward and were rewarded in the 85th minute. Libby Isaac found the equaliser, finishing well to bring the hosts back into the contest at 3–3.

Moments later, the decisive moment arrived. Bufton was brought down inside the penalty area, and she stepped up to calmly convert from the spot in the 87th minute, completing her hat-trick and giving Aberystwyth the lead. Barry Town were reduced to ten players in the closing stages, and Aberystwyth managed the final moments well to see out the victory.

It was a thrilling and hard-fought contest to bring the season to a close, with Aberystwyth Town Women showing great character to come from behind and secure all three points.

The club would like to thank all supporters and volunteers for their continued support throughout the campaign.
