Aberystwyth Town Women earned a hard-fought point on the road as they drew 1-1 with Briton Ferry Llansawel Women, producing a strong second-half response after an early setback.

The hosts made a bright start and took the lead inside five minutes, with Jess Denscombe finding the net to give Briton Ferry an early advantage. It was a challenging opening for Aberystwyth away from home, but the side remained composed and looked to settle into the contest. The remainder of the first half saw chances at both ends, with neither side able to find the breakthrough. Despite some promising moments, Aberystwyth went into the break trailing 1-0.
A number of changes at half-time helped to inject fresh energy into the Aberystwyth side, and the impact was clear. The visitors began to put passes together with greater consistency, building momentum and creating several opportunities as pressure on the Briton Ferry defence increased. That pressure eventually told in the 82nd minute. A well-delivered cross from Rebecca Mathias was met by Libby Isaac, who rose at the edge of the six-yard box to head home and bring Aberystwyth level at 1-1.
The equaliser was a deserved reward for a much-improved second-half performance. After suffering a 3-0 defeat in the same fixture the week prior, the improvement on display was exactly what the coaching staff had been looking for. Aberystwyth were more resilient, showed greater fight, and demonstrated increased quality on the ball throughout the second half.
Attention now turns to the upcoming fixture against Pontypridd, with momentum building following this encouraging result.
