TYRONE AND SAM ARE NEXT UP!

Aberystwyth Town Football Club is delighted to announce the arrivals of forward Tyrone Ofori and defender Sam Paddock ahead of the 2025/26 JD Cymru South season.

A product of the Shrewsbury Town academy, Tyrone links up once again with newly-appointed Aber manager Callum McKenzie, having previously worked together at Newtown and Shrewsbury Town.

Familiar to Cymru Premier followers, Tyrone spent the 2019/20 season with Cefn Druids before joining The Robins ahead of the 2020/21 season. He went on to make 28 appearances in all competitions, scoring 8, as Newtown qualified for the UEFA Europa League - beating Caernarfon Town 5-3 in the Play-Off Final at The Oval.

Since leaving Newtown and still only 24-years-old, Tyrone has featured for the likes of Stafford, Rushall, and most recently Shifnal Town of the Midland Football League.

Speaking on Ofori’s arrival, manager Callum Mckenzie said:

“I'm delighted Ty has agreed to join us next season. Tyrone is someone that I've worked with in the past both at both Shrewsbury and Newtown, and he also came through Aston Villa’s academy so has an excellent pedigree.

Ty is a powerhouse of a centre forward who can link play effectively but will also be a threat in behind which is a weapon that I want us to utilise next season. He works extremely hard both with and without the ball, and will allow us to be aggressive in the final third, which is something I want us to be effective at, particularly at home. Welcome to Aber, Ty!”

A left-sided centre-back, 22-year-old Paddock joins the Seasiders from Midland League Premier Division side Atherstone Town. Sam came through Hednesford Town’s academy and has since played for the likes of Bedworth United, Romulus, and Leek Town.

McKenzie is thrilled to have secured the services of Sam for the upcoming season, adding:

'I’m really pleased that Sam has decided to join us, despite interest from some good clubs in England. Sam has already gained some great experience from his time at Hednesford, and from my chats with him he’s really come across as an excellent character and one I know will give everything for the badge next season.

A left-footed centre back who is comfortable on the ball, Sam will give us a great balance in build up and a real grit out of possession. Sam will be a key member of the squad next season, and he’s a player that I'm really looking forward to working with.  Welcome to Aber, Sam!”

Croeso i Aber, Sam a Tyrone!
