REPORT: ATFC 0-0 NEWTOWN AFC
On a balmy summer’s Saturday in Ceredigion, Craig Williams’ new-look Black and Greens kicked off their preparations for the 2026/27 season with a solid draw against Mid Wales rivals Newtown in front of a large and lively crowd. FREDDIE JOINS THE STAFF!
Aberystwyth Town Football Club are delighted to announce that club legend Aneurin "Freddie" Thomas has joined Craig Williams' first-team coaching staff ahead of the 2026/27 season! One of the most respected figures in the Club's modern history, Freddie enjoyed an outstanding playing career in Black and Green spanning two decades. Across three spells at Park Avenue between 1992 and 2012, he made a remarkable 465 first-team appearances, cementing his place as one of Aberystwyth


PREVIEW: NEWTOWN AFC (H)
Preparations for the 2026/27 season begin on Saturday, with the Black & Greens hosting mid-Wales neighbours Newtown in the first preseason friendly of Summer 2026. ATFC Manager Craig Williams has had a busy summer so far, with no less than 9 new arrivals already walking through the famous Park Avenue gates. 11 players have been retained from last season, whilst 12 have departed.
