PREVIEW: ATWFC VS THE NEW SAINTS (A)
Aberystwyth Town continue their Genero Adran Premier campaign on Sunday 25th October as they travel to face The New Saints, looking to build on last weekend's hard-fought draw against Barry Town United.
The Seasiders head into the fixture with renewed confidence following their 2–2 draw at Park Avenue, which saw Chloe Edwards open the scoring inside two minutes before Libby Isaac's second-half equaliser secured a valuable point. The result marked Aber's first point of the season, and they will be eager to carry that momentum into Sunday's encounter.
The New Saints have enjoyed a strong start to the season, establishing themselves among the league's leading sides. The hosts recorded impressive victories over Swansea City, Wrexham and Briton Ferry Llansawel before suffering a narrow 1–0 defeat away to Cardiff City last weekend.
Sunday's fixture promises to be another challenging test for the Seasiders against a strong TNS outfit. Aber will need to remain organised and disciplined throughout, while looking to build on the attacking positives shown against Barry Town. With their first league point now on the board, Aberystwyth will be hoping to continue building confidence and momentum as the Genero Adran Premier campaign progresses.
Ones To Watch
Aberystwyth Town Women - LIBBY ISAAC
Sponsored By - Mark Kurta
Isaac heads into Sunday's encounter following her important equaliser against Barry Town United. A dependable presence in the Seasiders' backline, her defensive qualities and ability to contribute at the other end of the pitch could prove vital as Aber look to build on their recent result.
The New Saints Women - FIONA BARRY
Barry will be one to watch for the hosts on Sunday, having netted a hat-trick in the previous meeting between the two sides at Park Avenue. Her clinical finishing and eye for goal make her a dangerous attacking threat, and the Seasiders will need to keep a close eye on her throughout the encounter.
