Aberystwyth Town Women continue their Genero Adran Premier campaign on Sunday as they travel to Cyncoed Stadium to face Cardiff Metropolitan University Women.

The Seasiders head into the fixture looking to respond positively following last weekend’s defeat to The New Saints at Park Avenue, while Cardiff Met will look to do the same after a 3–1 defeat away to Swansea City Women.

Both sides will see Sunday’s encounter as an important opportunity to pick up valuable points and build momentum as the opening phase of the Genero Adran Premier season continues.

Cardiff Met have taken one point from their opening three league fixtures, beginning their campaign with a 2–0 defeat against The New Saints before earning a 1–1 draw away at Briton Ferry Llansawel. Last weekend, the Archers took an early lead against Swansea City before the hosts fought back to claim a 3–1 victory.

The last meeting between the two sides came in the 2024/25 season, with Aber running out 2-1 winners at home. The Black and Greens also won by the same scoreline in their last visit to Cyncoed Campus. 

With both teams determined to secure a positive result, Sunday’s meeting promises to be another competitive encounter between two familiar Genero Adran Premier opponents.

One of Aber’s most exciting young talents, Kersey was named Young Player of the Year last season and has continued her progression into the senior side. Her pace and directness provide the Seasiders with a dangerous option going forward.

The 17-year-old demonstrated her attacking influence towards the end of last season, providing two assists in Aber’s 5–0 victory over Pontypridd United, while she also scored her first senior goal during the campaign.

Cardiff Metropolitan University WFC: FAITH MULENGA

Mulenga played a significant role in Cardiff Met’s immediate return to the Genero Adran Premier last season and was subsequently named at right-back in the 2025/26 Genero Adran South Team of the Season.

The full-back produced one of the defining moments of Met’s promotion campaign, scoring a spectacular 90th-minute equaliser against Connah’s Quay Nomads in the play-off final before converting her penalty in the shootout. Her ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch makes her one of the Archers’ key players to watch on Sunday.
