MATCH PREVIEW: KERRY FC (H)

A new era for Aberystwyth Town Football Club begins tonight, as The Seasiders start preparations for the new 2025/26 season, which will be the Club's first outside the JD Cymru Premier since the league’s inception in 1992.

There have been many changes at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue during the close season. Callum McKenzie was appointed as Manager earlier this month, replacing Antonio Corbisiero, with Matthew Bishop returning to the club as Assistant Manager. The new boss has wasted no time in recruiting his squad, with no less than 11 new signings announced so far.

There will still be some familiar faces in Black & Green however. Seb Osment, Ben Davies, Tom Mason and Gwydion Dafis have all signed new terms, whilst Richy Ricketts returns to the club having spent the last three years at Bow Street.

Friday’s opposition, Kerry FC, finished 6th in the Lock Stock Ardal North East last season under the guidance of manager Ben Davies, winning 13 out of their 30 games. This came on the back of a hugely successful couple of seasons when they were Central Wales League North champions in both 2023 and 2024.

Luke Mumford was their top goal scorer last season, netting 20 times, whilst Richard Davies hit 9 goals. Former Newtown and Caersws forward Neil Mitchell also contributed 7 goals and 11 assists.

Kick-off is at 8pm and tickets are priced at £3 for concessions and £5 for adults. Come and see the new-look Aberystwyth Town as an exciting new era begins!
