PREVIEW: AFAN LIDO (H)

Aberystwyth Town’s push for a top-three finish continues this Saturday, as the Seasiders host Afan Lido at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue.

Craig Williams’ side will be aiming to bounce back from last week’s defeat to league leaders Cambrian United, where a late goal from Josh Allen secured a 2–0 victory for the hosts.

With four games remaining, a top-three finish is still mathematically possible for Aber. However, it will likely require four wins from four, along with favourable results elsewhere. This is Aberystwyth Town, though … and anything is possible!

This weekend’s visitors, Afan Lido, arrive in good form after securing back-to-back victories - beating Llantwit Major at home before winning away at Treowen Stars last week. Those results have lifted them to 14th in the table, with seven wins and 24 points from 27 matches.

Liam Griffiths is the visitors’ main attacking threat, with eight league goals so far this season. Liam McCreesh has contributed three, while Cameron Keetch has added two. Jordan Langley leads the assist charts with three.

Afan Lido are now managed by former Aberystwyth Town defender Lee Surman, who took charge in January following Garry Taylor’s departure. He is assisted by former Llanelli manager Lee John. Surman, who previously spent a season at Park Avenue under Ian Hughes, has overseen five wins since his appointment.

Tickets are priced at £7 for adults and £5 for concessions. Primary school children and junior league players can attend free of charge. Supporters can also take advantage of a £2 discount on adult digital tickets purchased in advance. Join us at Park Avenue as Aber aim to keep their top-three hopes alive!
