Aberystwyth Town make another long journey south this Saturday to face Caerau Ely, in what will be manager Callum McKenzie’s penultimate game at the helm.

It was announced on Wednesday that Callum has secured a hugely exciting full-time position at Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers. He will depart will the full support and best wishes of everyone at ATFC after next weekend’s match at home to against Ynyshir Albions.
During his short but impactful time at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue, Callum has transformed the club from one that was at its lowest point for many a decade, hurting from a first ever relegation from the JD Cymru Premier, to one that is genuinely excited about the future and the prospect of potentially returning to the Top Tier, with a young, hungry and ambitious team sitting just four points off a promotion place with a game in hand.
Saturday's assignment is not an easy one, and although Caerau Ely come into this match having lost their last two league games, they have had an outstanding season so far and recently went on a six-match winning run across the league and JD Welsh Cup. They currently sit in 5th position in the league and have 23 points from their 12 matches played.
This is not the first team Dean Wheeler’s side have outperformed expectations – two years ago, in what was their first season back in the JD Cymru South, they secured a top 5 finish and then last season they reached the Quarter-Final of the JD Welsh Cup.
Summer signings Dan Griffiths and Luke Gullick lead their scoring charts, with 6 and 3 goals respectively, while Oliver Redhead has also netted 3 times.
Saturday’s hosts Cwrt-yr-Ala home is on Cwrt-yr-Ala road to the west of Cardiff, and can be found by following postcode CF5 5QS. Tickets are priced at £6 for Adults, £4 for Concessions and U16s are admitted free of charge.
