PREVIEW: CAMBRIAN UTD (A)

Aberystwyth Town face a tough test this Saturday as Craig Williams’ side travel to league leaders Cambrian United.

The hosts confirmed their place in the top three last weekend with an impressive 4–0 win away at nearest challengers Trefelin. They have lost just twice all season and sit top of the table on 63 points, ahead of Trefelin on goal difference, with identical records otherwise.

Liam Eason remains both Cambrian’s top scorer and the league’s leading marksman, with 18 goals so far this campaign. He also tops their assist chart with 13. Dylan Edwards has contributed heavily as well, scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists, while Camillo Strinati has added 9 assists.

The reverse fixture in November ended in heartbreak for Aber, who put in a strong performance across 90 minutes, but Cambrian snatched a dramatic winner 13 minutes into added time to triumph 2-1.

Back in the present, spirits have been lifted at Park Avenue following last weekend’s 3–0 victory over Trethomas Bluebirds. With five games remaining, the Black & Greens sit seven points behind third-placed Caerau Ely, though they do have a game in hand. Ammanford lie in between, five points ahead having played the same number of matches.

The odds may appear stacked against Aber, but that’s nothing new. If there’s one club that thrives on late-season drama, it’s ATFC!

Cambrian United play at The M&P 3G, located near the Cambrian Industrial Estate in Clydach Vale, Rhondda (CF40 2XX). Join us for another away day as Aber go in search of a crucial three points!
