Aberystwyth Town will be looking to return to winning ways this Saturday with a home tie against Cwmbran Celtic at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue.

Callum McKenzie will be boosted by the return of two key players and the signing of another late this week. Skipper Desean Martin is available for selection once again following suspension, while popular forward Jonathan Evans returns to the squad after completing a loan move from Briton Ferry Llansawel on deadline day. This followed by the signing of striker Rackeem Reid on Thursday, who will boost McKenzie's options in attack.
With fellow August additions Zach McKenzie and Josh Ferreira now settled into the squad, Aber will have close to a full complement of players for this match, although Star Mayemba will be absent following his red card last week against Cardiff Draconians.
Saturday’s visitors, Cwmbran Celtic, are regulars in the JD Cymru South and have spent the majority of the last 15 years in the division, pulling off a number of great escapes during that time—including last season.
Going into the final game of the campaign in April, they had to defeat Llantwit Major to ensure survival for a sixth consecutive season. An early goal from Mario van Dieren secured the result they needed.
The 2025/26 season has not started as they would have hoped: with just two points from their opening six games, they currently sit in 16th place in the league. However, they did push both Carmarthen Town and Pontypridd United to penalties in the cup competitions.
Former Risca United manager Simon Berry is now in the visitors’ dugout, assisted by Stephen Muir, Sam Lewis, and Connor James.
Tickets for the match are priced at £7 for adults and £5 for concessions. Primary school children and junior league players are admitted free of charge. This season, ATFC are also offering a £2 discount on adult digital tickets purchased in advance.
