Preparations for the 2026/27 season begin on Saturday, with the Black & Greens hosting mid-Wales neighbours Newtown in the first preseason friendly of Summer 2026.

ATFC Manager Craig Williams has had a busy summer so far, with no less than 9 new arrivals already walking through the famous Park Avenue gates. 11 players have been retained from last season, whilst 12 have departed.

Key signatures include the permanent return of talisman Jonny Evans, the versatile Liam Walsh who returns after a season away and prolific frontman Aaron Williams, who enjoyed a successful spell at Saturday’s visitors earlier in his career.

Saturday’s visitors have also had a busy summer. New Manager Jay Owen replaced Nathan Leonard earlier this month, and he has brought in Mike Pearson as his no. 2 as well as adding former Guilsfield midfielder Sean Griffiths to the team.

The Robins have a number of former Seasiders in their squad. Goalkeeper Dave Jones spent two seasons in Ceredigion whilst Charley Edge, who missed last season through injury, and Devon Torry both also spent time in Black & Green.

Last season, Newtown finished 4th in the JD Cymru North, winning exactly half of their games in what was the club’s first season outside the JD Cymru Premier since its inception in 1992.

Join us at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue as the build up to the new season begins!
