Aberystwyth Town Women produced a stirring comeback performance on Sunday afternoon, overturning a two-goal deficit to claim a thrilling 3–2 victory away at Briton Ferry Llansawel.

The Seasiders endured a difficult start to proceedings, finding themselves 2–0 down within the opening 20 minutes as the hosts made the most of their early chances. However, Aber showed impressive character and resilience to turn the tide of the contest before half-time.
Carys Bufton was the hero of the afternoon, sparking the comeback with two quickfire goals in the space of just eight minutes. Her first came after some tidy link-up play on the edge of the box, calmly finishing beyond the Ferry keeper to halve the deficit. Moments later, she struck again. Showing her predatory instincts in front of goal to level the scores at 2–2 heading into the break.
Aberystwyth carried their momentum into the second half and continued to look dangerous on the counter. Just before the hour mark, Bufton completed a sensational hat-trick, firing home in the 59th minute to give the visitors the lead for the first time in the match.
The hosts responded strongly in the closing stages, pressing hard for an equaliser, but the Seasiders’ defence stood firm. A composed and disciplined display saw Aber see out the contest and secure all three points after a hard-fought 90 minutes.
The result means Aberystwyth Town Women move level on nine points, joining three other teams in a tightly contested Adran Premier table. It was a display full of spirit, determination, and clinical finishing, with Carys Bufton’s hat-trick the standout moment in a memorable away win.
Choosing the player of the match award was a difficult task as many of the girls impressed. However, Shauna Chambers with a dominant display from midfield took the award.
We would like to thank the supporters for travelling down to give the girls a much-needed boost.
