Aberystwyth Town make the trip to Newport this Saturday to face Sam Houldsworth’s Newport City, who currently sit three points and three places behind the Seasiders in the JD Cymru South table.

Craig Williams will be hoping his side can build on an impressive recent run of form. Aber are unbeaten in their last three matches, winning two of them, and as ever there has been no shortage of drama. Last weekend’s victory was secured in the 97th minute, with Zach McKenzie striking late to claim all three points.
Recent additions to the squad; Cameron Allen, Leo Thompson, Piers Juliff, Owain Evans and Erik Savkin have added welcome depth, and Aber will be aiming to take advantage of a weekend in which both Ammanford and Caerau Ely are inactive. A win would see the Seasiders close the gap to third place to just four points.
Newport City will provide stern opposition. They have lost only four league games all season, although their nine draws are the joint highest in the division. From 19 matches, Newport have collected 27 points and currently occupy eighth place.
They boast plenty of experience, with Kayne McLaggon and Rhys Kavanagh - both familiar faces at JD Cymru Premier level - leading the goalscoring charts with six and four goals respectively. Richard Noyes has been their chief creator, registering seven assists so far this season.
The reverse fixture in October saw Newport claim a narrow 1–0 win, with Clayton Farrah scoring in the 19th minute. Aber will be looking to turn the tables this weekend.
Newport Stadium, also known as Spytty Park, is located at the Newport International Sports Village (postcode NP19 4PT). Tickets are priced at £7 for adults, £5 for over-65s, with under-16s admitted free of charge. Join us and see if Aber can make it three wins from four!
