ATWFC: CEREDIGION PERIOD DIGNITY SCHEME

Aberystwyth Town Women FC has joined the Ceredigion Period Dignity Scheme,

becoming one of a growing number of community organisations providing free period

products to anyone who needs them.

Delivered by Ceredigion County Council and funded through the Welsh

Government Period Dignity Grant, the scheme aims to promote period dignity,

tackle period poverty and ensure that everyone has access to period products

whenever they are needed.

As a women's team, we understand that periods are a normal part of everyday life,

yet access to period products can still be a challenge for many. No one should have

to miss out on sport, education, work or everyday activities because they cannot

access essential products. By joining the scheme, we hope to help break down

stigma while ensuring that anyone visiting the club can access period products in a

safe, welcoming and dignified environment.

A range of products is available at the club, including disposable, eco-friendly,

plastic-free and reusable options, allowing people to choose the products that best

suit their needs. The message is simple: take what you need, no questions asked.

While this initiative is being led by our women's section, it reflects the values of

Aberystwyth Town Football Club as a whole. We are committed to being an inclusive

club that supports the wellbeing of our players, volunteers, supporters and the wider

community, both on and off the pitch.

As a community-focused club, we are proud to play our part in improving access to

free period products and supporting an initiative that helps ensure everyone can

access the products they need with dignity, whenever they need them.
