CROESO, LLIO!

Aberystwyth Town Women FC are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Llio Henshaw, who joins the Seasiders from CPDM Y Felinheli ahead of the 2026/27 Genero Adran Premier season.

The 23-year-old arrives at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue after nine years with Bethel and CPDM Y Felinheli, where she developed into a consistent performer in the Genero Adran North. Having gained valuable experience across nearly a decade in north Wales, Henshaw now makes the move to Ceredigion for a new challenge with the Black and Greens.

Speaking to Harry Ware of Cymru Sport, Llio expressed her excitement about joining the club and explained why she felt now was the right time to make the step up:

"It's a good feeling. I felt like I needed another step up, it's an opportunity I thought I should go for. I felt like now it was the right time. I never really thought about going up, but being 23 I feel like I could go a step further, and now's the time to go."

Llio also reflected on settling into the squad following her unofficial debut in the club's pre-season fixture against Notts County:

"The girls have been very welcoming, I just felt like I could fit in here. I've just played my first game (against Notts County) and it felt really good, I feel like I had a really good game."

Looking back on her time with CPDM Y Felinheli, Henshaw thanked her former club for helping her develop as a player:

"CPDM Y Felinheli was a really good team to play for, I played for them for nine years through Bethel and Felinheli now. They're a really good side and I feel like they'll do good in tier two."

Manager Rhys Jon James was pleased to secure his first signing ahead of the new campaign and believes Henshaw has all the attributes to continue developing at the club:

"Really pleased with signing Llio. She wants to learn, she's willing to learn and take things on board. We've spent a lot of time over the summer looking at players who are realistic and that we can approach, so to get Llio in is really pleasing because she's in an age bracket where we need players. She's 23 and has had so many seasons of playing in the Adran North and become a really seasoned player."
