Aberystwyth Town FC are delighted to confirm the retention of Dylan Downs, Cameron Allen, and Tom Mason for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign!

22-year-old defender / midfielder Dylan came through the youth ranks at Shrewsbury Town before joining The Robins ahead of the 2020/21 season, where he featured regularly for the Club’s Development side as a youngster.
A six-month loan with JD Cymru North side Llanidloes Town for the first half of the 2023/24 campaign gave Dylan his first consistent taste of senior football, making 10 appearances in all competitions, before returning to Latham Park.
The following season, Dylan again spent the first half of the season on loan in the Cymru North, this time with Caersws, making 21 total appearances in all competitions before being recalled in January 2025.
Joining Town ahead of the 2025/26 season, versatile Dylan was a consistent presence in the Black and Green line-up deputising predominantly in midfield, making 28 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice.
21-year-old Cameron was a standout throughout his time in the ATFC Academy and found his breakthrough as a prolific goalscorer for the Under-19s Development side in the 2021/22 season, scoring 38 goals in 26 appearances.
In January 2022, he was awarded his senior debut in the JD Cymru Premier at just 16-years-old, replacing John Owen away at Penybont FC.
Despite limited minutes from the bench later that season, Cam notched his first senior goal on the final day at Park Avenue. Beating Declan Poole in the air, his clever reverse header equalised the scoreline to 1-1 late on against defending title-holders Connah's Quay Nomads, as the Black and Greens secured an 8th-place finish.
Prolific spells at Carmarthen Town, Penrhyncoch, and Guilsfield followed over the next seasons before Cam returned to Aberystwyth University Park Avenue Stadium in January 2026, however injury restricted the youngster to just two appearances in February.
Returning for his first full campaign in Black and Green in four years, Cam will look to push on, return to fitness and to his goal-scoring best.
19-year-old Tom is an academy graduate and former captain of the ATFC Development Team who made his senior debut at just 16-years-old in September 2023, later making his first senior start for the Club in a Nathaniel MG Cup Quarter-Final win away at Connah’s Quay Nomads in October 2024 as Town progressed all the way to the final.
Last season, Maenygroes-native Tom enjoyed his first full campaign in senior football making 29 appearances across all competitions. Scoring his first goal for the Club at home to Cardiff Draconians in a January 3-2 win, he notched the 1-0 winner away at Newport City the following week as Town hit a rich vein of form in the New Year.
Manager Craig Williams commented:
“Dylan is someone who adds real professionalism to our group, sets standards, and was ever-present until injury curtailed his season. He’s good around the dressing room, delivers consistent performances, and will be an important part of our group this season.
Tom and Cam are local forward players who I’m excited to work with again this season. Tom played more minutes than ever last season and scored some important goals for us, and we’re looking for him to kick on again. Cam has been unlucky with injuries, but we’re hoping we can get him back to full fitness as soon as possible, and we’re confident he’ll show his true quality on the pitch as the season goes on.
Welcome back, lads!”
