NEXT UP: LEO, TOMOS, ERNIE!

Aberystwyth Town FC are pleased to confirm the retention of youngsters Leo Thompson, Tomos Wyn Evans, and Ernie Andrews for the upcoming campaign!

Shrewsbury-born Leo developed through the ranks at AFC Telford United before joining The New Saints in August 2024, shortly after his 16th birthday. In his first season at Park Hall, he made 26 appearances between the Saints' Development and Reserve sides, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists.

Leo continued his fine scoring and creating records in the first half of last season having notched 4 goals and 6 assists in 13 games between the FAW National Academi North Development League and FAW Youth Cup.

Joining Town in January 2026, 17-year-old Leo made seven appearances in the second half of the season and returns for the upcoming season in Craig Williams' midfield group.

18-year-old keeper Tomos joined the Club from North Wales Coast East side Llandudno Junction FC in June 2025. Despite his youth, Tomos had made 27 First-Team appearances across all competitions in 2024/25 with a number of standout performances.

Spending the majority of his first Black and Green season as a backup option, Tomos took his opportunities when presented following a number of injuries and departures amongst Town's goalkeepers. He started seven games and made one appearance from the bench, keeping three clean sheets and conceding only five times with a number of outstanding reaction saves along the way.

20-year-old Aberystwyth University student Ernie burst onto the 1st-Team scene late in the season having represented the Club's Development sides until early March before a spate of injuries presented an opportunity.

Making his debut off the bench away at eventual champions Trefelin BGC, left-back Ernie went on to play the full 90 minutes in each of Town's final six matches and showed promise as a consistent and hard-working full-back option in Craig Williams' defence.

ATFC Development goalkeeper and fellow Aberystwyth University student Oliver Edwards also returns to the squad having made two appearances last season, including the full 90 minutes and a clean sheet on the final day of the season at Ynyshir Albions.
