Aberystwyth Town Football Club is delighted to have received the unanimous support of Ceredigion County Council's Development Management Committee this afternoon (13th August), resolving to grant planning permission for the Club's ambitious redevelopment plans for Aberystwyth University Park Avenue Stadium.

The application, submitted in April, followed over 18-months of detailed work behind-the-scenes to create a comprehensive masterplan for the future of our historic and much-loved ground. The Club engaged with key stakeholders throughout, including the Football Association of Wales, and undertook a 28-day Pre-Application Consultation exercise in February 2025 ahead of the formal planning submission to Ceredigion County Council.
The Club welcomes the Committee's resolution in favour of Officers' recommendation to grant permission and wishes to thank Officers and Members alike for their support of this important regeneration project in the heart of Aberystwyth.
Necessary preparatory work and further detailed discussions may now progress with stakeholders to ensure the Club's vision can be put into action as soon as possible. The Club remains wholly committed to providing the highest standard of sporting and recreational facilities for the local community and the wider Mid Wales region.
The now-consented masterplan includes a new two-and-a-half storey main building extending from the existing gantry to the Police Station corner (seen below), providing new UEFA-standard players' and male / female officials' changing rooms, first aid room, kitchen, clubhouse / bar and community / events rooms with panoramic pitch-side views, meeting room, rooftop terrace and bar, and over 100 covered spectator seats.
Provided elsewhere are secondary players' changing rooms, a new 310-seater goal-end stand, roof coverings to Nark's Corner standing terrace and the open seated stand with re-built disabled spectator platform, improvements to accessibility throughout the ground, and a new turnstile and two storey building to the main entrance providing secondary kitchen facilities and 1200sq.ft of business / office space.
Further updates will be shared with our loyal supporters as and when available — thank you for your continued support!
