PREVIEW: LLANTWIT MAJOR (H)

Aberystwyth Town return to Aberystwyth University Park Avenue this Saturday as they face Llantwit Major in the Novira Cymru South.

The Seasiders were without a fixture last weekend after the scheduled trip to Ynyshir Albions was postponed, with the hosts' ground being used as a base by the fire service during efforts to tackle multiple wildfires in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Saturday's match marks the first of three consecutive home fixtures for Aber, with Pontardawe and Llanelli also set to visit Park Avenue over the Bank Holiday weekend.

This weekends visitors, Llantwit Major, have endured a difficult start to the new campaign and remain without a point after three matches, having suffered defeats against Pure Swansea, Afan Lido and Baglan Dragons.

The visitors had strengthened their squad during the summer with the return of popular goalkeeper Jack Lansdown, alongside the arrival of former Wimbledon, Cardiff Met and The New Saints striker Adam Roscrow.

However, Lansdown's return was cut short after he was forced off through injury after just 39 minutes of the opening game, with Ryley Allen deputising in goal since.

Despite their early-season struggles, Llantwit should not be underestimated. Karl Lewis' side finished eighth in the Cymru South last season and, like Aberystwyth, may well have finished higher had it not been for a disappointing run-in.

The sides last met in April, when a closely contested encounter ended in a 2–2 draw. Aber also claimed all three points when the teams met in July 2025, in the Seasiders' first match in the second tier, thanks to goals from Desean Martin and Tyrone Ofori.
