TOWN RETAIN LOCAL TRIO!

Aberystwyth Town FC are pleased to confirm the retention of local trio Richy Ricketts, Josh Ferreira, and Ben Davies for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign!

A graduate of the Club’s Academy and Development sides, Richy broke into the First Team at just 16 years old during the 2019/20 season, making 12 appearances in all competitions.

Richy joined Bow Street FC on loan in January 2022 before signing permanently ahead of the 2022/23 season, where he became a regular starter.

In his final two seasons at Cae Piod, Richy made 45 league appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 13 assists as the Magpies recorded impressive back-to-back second-place finishes, narrowly missing out on the title to neighbours Penrhyncoch and later Brickfield Rangers respectively.

In his returning season in Black and Green, Richy made 17 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals — including an unforgettable 93rd-minute game-winning free-kick at Treowen Stars in October and a 76th-minute winner at Baglan Dragons in February — before injury brought an unfortunate end to his season.

Josh is well known to football followers in the Aberystwyth area, having spent over 15 years with Penrhyncoch, Penparcau, Borth United, and most recently Bow Street FC.

Josh made 38 appearances in all competitions during his final season at Cae Piod, where he was named in the Ardal North East Team of the Season, while also picking up the Bow Street Players' Player and Manager's Player of the Season awards.

Joining Town in August 2025, Josh made 25 appearances in all competitions, becoming a regular starter from the end of October onwards after developing a strong partnership with Sam Paddock.

Midfielder Ben came through the Aberystwyth Junior League and progressed into senior football with Penparcau FC and Bow Street FC before joining Town in June 2024.

Known for his tenacity, touch, and eye for a pass, Ben quickly adapted to the JD Cymru Premier despite missing the first three months of the season through injury. He made his Black and Green debut in October 2024 and soon became a regular starter at the heart of the midfield, making 21 appearances in all competitions.

Last season, injuries limited Ben to 22 appearances across all competitions in the Black and Green midfield. November saw him notch his first goal for the Club with a well-taken left-footed strike away at Trethomas Bluebirds as Town secured a 3–2 victory.
