TOWN SNAP UP ROBINS DUO!

Aberystwyth Town FC are delighted to announce the signings of exciting young talents Alfie Davies and Tarran Hollinshead from Newtown AFC ahead of the 2026/27 Novira Cymru South season.

The pair arrive at Park Avenue after impressing in Newtown's development pathway and are reunited with manager Craig Williams, having both previously worked under him in the Robins academy set-up. Their arrivals add further quality, energy and local talent to an exciting young Aberystwyth squad.

Seventeen-year-old striker Alfie Davies, who was born in Aberystwyth, joins after progressing through the academies at Bala Town and Caernarfon Town before becoming a standout performer for Newtown's Development side.

His rapid development earned him Welsh Schools U18 honours, while he also gained senior experience with four Cymru North appearances during the 2025/26 season. Alfie has continued that progress during pre-season, impressing with his movement, work rate and eye for goal.

Alfie said:

"The chance to join Aber was a chance I couldn't miss out on. Having worked with Craig for the best part of two years at Newtown, I'm looking forward to working with him again."

Joining him is 18-year-old midfielder Tarran Hollinshead, another product of Newtown's academy who has already gained valuable senior experience despite his age.

A Welsh Schools U18 international, Tarran made his senior debut at just 16 years old in the Cymru Premier before making 10 Cymru North appearances last season, scoring twice. Like Alfie, he has caught the eye throughout pre-season with his composure, technical ability and maturity on the ball.

Tarran said:

"It's an honour to play for a club like Aberystwyth. Over the years, I've played at Park Avenue and have always admired the setup and the people within the club. I've played under and alongside Craig for many years, so it'll be great to be playing for him again!"

Manager Craig Williams added:

“I’m really pleased to bring both Alfie and Tarran to the club. They’re two talented young players with bright futures ahead of them, and I’ve seen first-hand the qualities they can bring. They’ve both impressed throughout pre-season, settled into the group really well, and I’m excited to see them continue their development in an Aber shirt this season.”
