ZAC IS BACK IN BLACK AND GREEN!

Aberystwyth Town FC is delighted to confirm the return of standout right-sided player Zac Hartley for the 2025/26 JD Cymru South season.

Born in Shrewsbury, 23-year-old Zac came through the Shrews’ youth system before moving into senior football with spells at Clubs including  Bromsgrove Sporting FC and National League North side Hednesford Town.

Zac thereafter crossed the border ahead of the 2023/24 season, joining Newtown AFC where he has made nine appearances in all competitions.

However, with opportunities limited at Latham Park, Zac made the move to Ceredigion in January 2024 and immediately made an impression, featuring in 10 consecutive games — including a season-defining winning goal in the 91st minute away at Colwyn Bay, which ultimately proved the difference between the two teams in the race for survival.

Zac returned for the 2024/25 JD Cymru Premier campaign, making 28 appearances in all competitions from both sides of the pitch, adding one goal against The New Saints in October. Despite the Black and Greens' disappointing campaign, Zac remained a consistent performer and returns to add proven quality to Callum McKenzie’s squad.

McKenzie commented:

‘I’m delighted that Zac has agreed to re-join the Club this season; he’s a player I’ve known for a number of years and is of course well known to everyone at the Club.

Zac is an attack-minded player with good technical and physical qualities who will add real balance to our play, both in and out of possession. Welcome back Zac!”
