JD Welsh Cup Third Round Saturday 7th December (ko 2.30pm) Aberystwyth Town v Ruthin Town Welsh Cup Fever returns to the Ceredigion Coast on Saturday as JD Cymru North side Ruthin Town make their first ever visit to Park Avenue, to face a Black and Greens side needing a Cup pick me up after a disappointing November. Welsh Cup Third Round day is always enjoyable as an opportunity to make new friends with Clubs elsewhere in the pyramid, and Saturday is no exception. Ruthin Town were founded in 1951, and their honours include winning the North Wales Amateur Cup in 1967 and 1973. They have played much of their football in the Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) but were promoted to the Cymru Alliance in 1991-92 after finishing runners up in the Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) and winning the Premier Division Cup the same year. Ever presents since, the club are one of the league's longest serving members with the third place achieved in 2003 and 2004 representing the best to date. They currently sit in 11th place in the JD Cymru North with 18 points from 15 games, ten of which have been played away from home, including a 2-1 win at Penrhyncoch. Welsh Cup Third Round Day probably comes at a good time for Aber, whose League form dipped through the month of November. After a fantastic five goal flourish at Airbus, defeats to Top Six Bala, TNS and Cefn Druids were punctuated by a League Cup loss away to STM Sports. Manager Mathew Bishop however has a full squad to choose from and the Players will be itching for a home win to confirm their progress into the last sixteen of the National Cup Competition. Admission for this JD Welsh Cup clash will cost £7 for Adults, £4 for Concessions and just £1 for Kids. The Magic of the Cup awaits!
