The free annual event is a highpoint of the Club's work with the Community, and traditionally attracts between 250-300 additional supporters through the gate for a high profile Dafabet Welsh Premier League match. The home game with Bangor City on Saturday, April 23rd will be Aber's last ever league match on the Park Avenue turf before the Club's new 3G pitch is laid, and with the Black and Greens currently on a good run of results, it could well be a UEFA Europa League Play Off decider.
The Family Fun Day will consist of a number of activites around the ground to entertain and amuse supporters of all ages, but particularly children and families. Penalty shoots out with our Club Mascot Sami the Seagull have proven very popular in the past, as have informal Football Coaching Sessions ran on the Astroturf behind the Main Stand, which will also host a bouncy castle (weather permitting!).
Behind the scenes Guided Tours of Park Avenue Stadium are also on offer, bringing out the stories created by the Club's 85 years continuous use of the ground, while the John Charles Lounge hosts quizzes, face painting and Xbox games to keep everyone entertained.
As an added extra this year the wonderful Borth Animalarium will be our Special Guests for the day!
This all acts as a build up to the Main Event, a Dafabet Welsh Premier League match against Bangor City, and those attending the Family Fun Day are of course allowed to remain within the ground free of charge to watch it.
The kick off time for this game is at 5.15pm and the Family Fun Day begins at 2pm. Please keep an eye on Town's website atfc.org.uk, twitter @aberystwythtown, Youtube Channel, "Green Army" Facebook page or the local press for more details closer to the event.
Kermit the Frog sang that it was not easy being green, but the way our Black and Greens are playing at the moment, we at Aberystwyth Town beg to differ. Consider yourself invited on April 23rd and we look forward to meeting you and your family!
